The Thornhill Club offers one of the finest and most active curling facilities you will encounter anywhere.
Six sheets of ice means there’s room for the whole family to participate in a variety of instructional, recreational and competitive programs. Lead by our Head Curling Professional Alison Goring, our curling program is among the best anywhere. Alison has been involved in the curling world for over 40 years, made one appearance at the World Curling Championships and represented Ontario four times at the Scotties. Whether you’re just getting started or looking to take your game to the next level of competition, Alison had the knowledge and passion for the game that makes learning fun and rewarding.
We offer leagues for Men, Senior Men, Business Ladies, Day Ladies, Open and Mixed adult groups, as well as co-ed Little Rock, Bantam and Junior programs for children and young adults aged 6 to 19.
The Thornhill Club’s Test program gives non-members the opportunity to experience the Curling Section of the Club, as well as the other facilities, for a 3 month period. In that time, you will be able to curl in your chosen schedules as well as enjoy bonspiels, and exciting guest activities. During your Test period you may also enjoy the many benefits of the clubhouse including full use of its dining facilities, attendance at curling functions and the ability to sponsor private events and meetings. The Test program gives those new to the sport of curling or the private club environment the perfect opportunity to learn more about the sport and see why The Thornhill Club is the perfect fit for them!
LEARN TO CURL PROGRAM
“Try a new sport!” Curling is a team sport (four people) that offers great exercise, competition and plenty of fun! An opportunity to network, socialize and build long-lasting friendships. The Thornhill Club’s Learn to Curl program is offered to members 18+.
Each “Learn to Curl” member receives the following benefits:
- 10 hours of professional instruction/ coaching (Two three-hour group clinics in late September and eight half hour pre-game group clinics)
- Placement on a team in league(s) of your choice
- Participation in Sunday morning “Come-out-have-fun” program
- Three-month membership in our Curling Section
