Where golf is just the beginning, and what a beginning. From friendly family golf to the most competitive match, The Thornhill Club has it covered with our Stanley Thompson designed 18-hole long course and the 9-hole Executive Valley Course.
When Stanley Thompson designed the course in 1922, he took a magnificent piece of land and turned it into a masterpiece that, to this day, provides a challenging test of golf for any player. Strategically placed bunkers, subtly breaking greens and elevated tees force you to use every club in your bag. In short: it requires a perfect blend of both skillful mastery and subtle creativity, bringing out only the best in those who play it. Mr. Thompson would have wanted it that way.
And play it you must. Our PGA Head Golf Professional, Todd McGrath and his Golf Shop team, work to provide personalized service where you and your guests are treated like members.

A course as challenging as our Stanley Thompson masterpiece requires a finely tuned game, and our practice facilities will prepare you for the task.
Our beautifully maintained practice facility offers natural and artificial tees with a covered area for those dedicated enough to practice in any weather. The secluded, tree-lined practice range hosts target greens, a sand bunker and a chipping area. This practice facility also includes large putting and chipping greens as well as warm up nets, all located in close proximity to the first tee.
Equipped with our FlightScope monitor, The V1 Video Analysis System and Flight Scope technology, our professionals can help with pre-and post-round game enhancement.
The Thornhill Learning Centre (TLC) has been created with the objective of helping golfers to develop their knowledge of the game, improving their skill level and enhancing their overall enjoyment of golf.

An enjoyable experience for golfers of all abilities, Thornhill’s Valley Course brings all the elements of the Long Course together in a smaller package. Only 1,500 yards long over nine holes, the course offers strategic bunkering, small greens and a variety of holes to challenge the low handicapper seeking to play quickly, while also allowing new golfers to experience the game. The perfect opportunity for a family outing, the Valley Course resonates with junior and experienced golfers alike.
The nine holes of the Valley Course, nestled amongst the woods of the upper Don River, provide a unique opportunity for both the novice and experienced golfer. The variations in hole length, elevated tees and small greens create an executive course where golfers new to the game will enjoy learning the basics. For the veteran golfer, the Valley Course is a fun and challenging opportunity to improve your short game. The Valley Course is enjoyed by all and offers the perfect chance for a quick round with family or friends.

In all Junior coaching opportunities, our PGA of Canada Professionals strive to create a safe and fun learning environment where the welfare of each student is paramount. They consistently foster an atmosphere of care, patience, understanding and encouragement that allows each student to develop to the best of his or her ability. In addition, they take care to assist juniors in adopting practices that support, protect and empower them. Golf, and sport in general, has powerful influences on children and our coaching staff at Thornhill recognize how to assist their students in developing valuable, positive qualities such as leadership, team work, an understanding of fair play, patience and confidence.
We at Thornhill are dedicated to helping our junior golf members learn the game of golf and strive to use the extensive means available to us to provide them with the skills necessary to excel.
Thornhill offers a number of summer camps for children ages 6 to 14 in golf, tennis and overall sports. During the month of June, we offer Golf & Tennis Camp tailored toward private school students who complete their school year earlier. This camp gives them the opportunity to spend half a day each learning tennis and golf under the guidance of our PGA of Canada Professionals and Head Tennis Professional, Doug Eady. In July and August, our Golf Camps offer day-long coaching with our Pros on the Valley Course and practice facilities. Students participate in both on-course and off-course learning, allowing them to hone their skills and learn something new each day while having fun and making new friends within the Thornhill community.
The Thornhill Club offers Junior Golf Lessons for children 14 years of age and under. We also offer both players and tournament packages, which provide enhanced coaching opportunities with goal setting and prioritizing, swing video analysis, and on-Course playing lessons.
JUNIOR ADVANCED GOLF PROGRAM
Our mission is to continually create the opportunity for positive competitive golf experiences for young athletes, educating players on how to effectively train for lasting skill acquisition and proper development of physical, mental and technical golf skills. Our Junior Advanced Golf Program works with three levels of athletes to assist them in not only developing a passion for the sport, but further developing their skills for competitive play. The Learn to Train (ages 9-13), Train to Play (ages 12-16) and Train to Compete (ages 15-19) programs offer coaching that builds upon itself throughout each level. From introductory competition principles in Learn to Train, to refining golf fundamentals in Train to Play and preparing for collegiate level golf in Train to Compete, Thornhill’s Junior Advanced Program is a vital component to any serious junior golfer’s development.
Thornhill offers a Junior InterClub, free of charge, for all Junior Golf members who are over the age of 11 years old and have an established handicap. This InterClub is designed (and teams are chosen as such) so that the participants have the chance to play in a low-stress competitive atmosphere at top private courses such as National GC, Summit G&CC, Toronto GC, Lambton G&CC, Islington GC and Weston G&CC.
JUNIOR CLUB EVENTS
With a strong Junior program, The Thornhill Club prides itself on hosting associated Club events. These include Junior Information Meetings (followed by tee times), Junior Opening Day, Junior Match Play Competitions, Junior Club Championships and Junior Closing Day.
